Kata Kanku-Dai : Learning Karate At Home (1.2.11)

Kanku-Dai

Kanku-Dai means to see the world or the sky (from the first movement). Said Dai show that Kata is greatest Kata Kanku . Kanku-Dai name original Kushanku , the name of a Chinese martial arts expert who came to Okinawa in the 18th century. this Kata is a favorite of Gichin Funakoshi and Kata is that he chose to demonstrated outside Okinawa. Gichin Funakoshi sure that Kanku-Dai has all the basic elements of Shotokan Karate. this Kata is also a favorite Kata Sensei Okazaki who demonstrate this in the book The Best Karate. this Kata is also a test material as the second Kata Trials of Nidan (Dan II).

Important thing :

Technics fast and slow, powerful and gentle, expansion and contraction, and leap and bend. This word is used if completely surrounded by the enemy. Circumstances / situations is also important, because the word length. Has 65 movements with the application time of 90 seconds.
